Accuse me of stealing? You will lose everything

First post...be kind! This happened way back in the dark ages, 1986. I was 21 at the time and working for a gas station that was associated with a certain grocery store chain in Washington state. It was owned by a company not affiliated with said chain, but had locations at nearly every one.
As this was long before the days of debit cards, this was a cash only gas station. We didn’t even take credit cards. Customers would pull up, pump their gas and then come to my window to pay. We also sold cigarettes. No drinks, no snacks...customers couldn’t even get into my booth. I had been working there about a year when the company announced it was closing the location. My manager and I were offered positions at another location upstate and we both accepted. We moved our respective families and started our new jobs. As new hires (ugh).
This station was incredible busy. We did more business in 8 hrs than my old location would do in a week. This location also had a different set up: here you would pull into the station from a single entrance, pump your gas, and then drive forward to a single exit where the “Pay Here” booth was located. There were always 2 cashiers on duty. Each cashier had a cash drawer.
One thing I should note, there were also no computers. So closing the drawer down between shifts was timing consuming and tedious. We had to manually count the cigarettes remaining, and count the cash drawers. We would fill out an end of shift report listing the starting balances and the ending balances. We also had to list the gallons sold from each pump. At the end of the shift the total of gallons sold and the total cigarettes sold should equal the cash balance. It is important to note here that not once in the year I had worked for the previous location had I been off by more than 10 cents.
The following morning after my first shift I was informed by the manager that I was short $50. Impossible I said, I balanced out yesterday. He said that I must have stolen that money after I had completed the paperwork. I just looked at him and said, no I didn’t. He gave me a verbal warning and said if it happened again I would be fired and the stolen money would be deducted from my paycheck this week.
In the 5 days that followed I realized quickly the manager was up to something. My old manager who was just another worker now, was also accused of stealing. As was one other new employee. I can’t vouch for the other employee but I’m pretty sure she did nothing wrong. The employees that had been there awhile were never accused of anything. I did some checking and found out this manager was relatively new (had only been there about 6 months) and the other cashiers had been here before him. Only new cashiers were being accused of stealing. And that location had been having “stealing problems” for about 6 months and the turnover was high with the new employees.
I came to work at 6am on a Monday only to be told I was being fired. For cause. The manager accused me of taking $500 out of my drawer the previous Friday. He said he only discovered it this morning (even though he had worked Sat and Sun). I said ok and left. I was pretty angry and instead of going home, I parked in the grocery store parking lot and proceed to settle in to watch the gas station. I knew that at 9am sharp, he would take the cash in the safe and make the weekend deposit. At 9am he left the gas station and headed to the bank. But instead of walking into the bank, he walked into the Indian “casino” next door. It’s not really a casino like we think of today, but more of a betting parlor for the races. It did have slot machines, but no card tables.
I think “Well, this is interesting”.
He comes out of the casino at exactly 10 am, walks next door to the bank, does his business and then heads back to the gas station. I head home with a plan.
Every morning I follow him from the gas station to the casino. I take a picture of him leaving, and one of him arriving at the bank and walking into the casino. I take pictures of him coming out and then heading to the bank. I do this for 5 days straight. He even went on Saturday. On day 3 my old manager was fired for “stealing” $150.
I get the film developed (no digital camera in the dark ages) note the times and dates on the back of each one. Then I call the main office of the gas company. It’s after 5 but I’m hoping someone is there. And there is. I speak to a woman and explain my situation and she says she knows exactly who I should speak to and transfers me. By some grace of God, she has transferred me to none other than the President/CEO of the company!
I tell him my story and tell him I did NOT steal from his company and could prove who actually did. He took down my information and said he would be in touch. I’m thinking to myself “yeah right”. The next morning I went to the station to perform my usual observation of the manager. At 9am he leaves for the “bank”. At 10 am he comes out. At that moment 2 stern looking gentlemen approach him. One pulls out his wallet and shows him something. The other one is talking. The manager goes pale and takes a step back. Next thing I know he is being escorted to a car I hadn’t noticed and they drive off. I lose them at a traffic signal so I head back to the station. They all show back up about 5 min later, and a few minutes after that a police cruiser pulls in. The officer talks to the stern gentleman and proceeds to place the manager in handcuffs. The other man says nothing but is glaring daggers at the manager.
The President called me later that after noon and informed me that the manager had been arrested for embezzlement (turns out that in 6 months he had managed to steal about $5k). He would take the store cash into the casino and gamble with it; if he won, he would make the normal bank deposit. If he lost, he would make the deposit and note in his records that we had been short the previous day. The CEO had already been focusing on that location because of the stealing and high turnover rate, but my information helped them figure out what exactly had been going on.
I was thanked and sent a substantial check as a reward. My old manager was offered the manager’s job and I was offered my old job back. I declined as I had already found another job that I liked more and paid better. The gambling manager was sentenced to 1 year in jail and ordered to attend counseling for his gambling addiction. His wife divorced him and took their 3 children to California. His house was foreclosed on and he ended up in a homeless shelter.
Don’t accuse me of stealing. I will get revenge.
** UPDATE**
Thank you for the likes and awards!
Update 2: this was my first post and I really didn’t expect all the awards. Thank you!

24 and down over 1.5mil for life and over 300k in debt haha (F-Bomb Warning)

I kinda just wrote this out as a reply to someone else but fuck it let me give some more details in here just cause I don't know what the fuck else I'm going to do today.
I'm 24 and don't take my story as "one upping". Just wanna show you how bad I am and let you know there's still hope.
So I fucking somehow managed to by the age of 24 royally fuck up my life.
At 18 I started gambling hard and it resulted in me getting kicked out of uni. Just a few thousand dollars down at that point. Maybe 10k. I mean I was gambling before 18 too but it picked up aroundh ere.
Managed to get into uni again before september so you know, only 1 year behind. Not bad. Time to get my life on track.
Nope. Start gambling again. Mix of options, poker, blackjack, etc.
This time I was borrowing money to do it. So not just losing money I had. Now I'm losing money I didn't have.
Couldn't pay the school cause I had to pay people and take a year off.
I thought I learned my lesson. Go back to school again study hard. Work hard. Gamble hard. Wait. No. Yup. Back to gambling. Managed to make 250k illegally at 20-21. Better yet, managed to lose 450k gambling.
Owe money to the wrong people. Try to dig myself out.
Just dug deeper.
Get my family to bail me out 200k.
They're pissed. They're scared. They're worried.
I got my second chance. Time to clean up my life.
Nope. Back to gambling within 4 weeks.
Fuck up hard again.
Owe 30k this time. Small beans compared to last time but family has no money and I can't think to face them.
Figure there's only one way out.
Try to kill myself.
Too fucking retarded to even do that right.
Wake up in hospital. Have to come clean all over again.
Work out a payment plan with the guy I owe money to that my parents take care of with money they don't have.
Go to get treatment for addition. It's going alright. I still gamble but at least I feel bad when I do and it's a lot less.
Finally stop gambling regularly. I guess therapy works
Time for me to get back into studying. Nope. Fuck that up again too.
Family drama comes up. Have to stop going to therapy.
I'm stressed. Let me just buy some options.
At least I'm not gambling.
Wait.
Fuck.
I'm 23 now. Been making some money illegally again. Had a few wins here and there. I figured out how to game the system! Just gotta leave when I'm up instead of doubling down when I'm down.
Stupid fucking plan.
Make and lose 750k in 2020. (Illegally again, and got incredibly luck to even be able to do that)
Okok time to fix up my life. Fuck university. Can't blow more money on this. All my friends graduated this year too. Let me do a college diploma.
I heard there's big money in tech anyway.
Okay start studying. Shit's going good. Still gambling but slowing it down a lot. I get some nice wins, few losses. Over all not doing too shabby.
Big win! Oh yes baby. Finally things starting to go my way haha!
Oh big loss... small compared to that huge win though!
fuck another big loss. It's okay I'm still up.
Big loss again..
oh no.. it's a pattern.
Back to even?? How is that possible.
Alright no big deal I can just win big again!
Fuck maybe not.
Slowly start borrowing money again.
Lose it.
Borrow money to pay off borrowed money.
Oh I just need to pay off 5k. Fuck lost it.
10k. Fuck. lost it.
okay 20k to make 10k easy easy.
Fuck. lost it.
Time to shuffle money around ponzi scheme style.
I am bad at ponzi scheme.
Borrow money. Lose it again. FUCK
Feb 08 2021 - 4:27AM. Down 130k.
Got a call 3 hours ago saying if I don't pay up 10k by Friday and then another 10k by the end of the month I'm going to have some "problems".
Family no longer has a dime to give me nor do they want to.
Pretty fucked. Trying to work out a payment plan tomorrow morning if I can. If not then gotta figure something else out. I send them 2.9k in good faith on the 10k but still need to find 7.1k.
Wanna know the funny thing? I had another 3.6k which I gambled right after the phone call trying to run it up to 10k to pay them back.
Even knowing everything I do now I still go to gambling haha.
Anyway. I'm just saying all this cause I don't know what the fuck else to do.
In my situation I know that these guys aren't going to kill me. They just want their money.
Told you I'm 130k in debt right. That's just right now to people from gambling.
Throw in my parents, the bank, student loans, credit cards etc.?
I'm around 350k in debt.
What a fucking hole to dig out of haha
Super desensitized to money now too. No god damn respect for anything.
The way I used to make money illegally has dried up too. Might be able to make another 10-20k this year from it but that's not gonna help me pay off 130k in debt.
Been going to addition help for the last 2 weeks. Big help that was. Hoping that it'll help me more soon though :/
Also fuck this story is missing so much other shit I just don't know where to put it in...
Got involved with organized crime at one point. Losing 10s of thousands a week of money I didn't have at poker games there.
Stole jewelry from my family after they bailed me out to pay debts. (Took it to a pawnshop cause I wanted to buy it back and replace it before they noticed it was missing)
Fucking managed to gamble that too before paying the debts though.
But yeah. I don't know.
Rambling so hard right now.
Also before anyone thinks I'm rich or anything and can afford all this. My parents combined yearly income is around 45k a year. We are actually kinda homeless. Only reason we're not on the street right now is cause my grandparents got a small apartment for us cause they don't want my parents to suffer cause of my fuck ups.
Don't think I could ever go back to them and look them in the eye to get help.
Don't think they'd ever even want to help me.
Everyone in my life that has helped me is sick and tired of what I am.
Keep making the same mistakes over and over.
Trying to help myself but I think I just can't live without stress.
I don't even know what that would be like. Can't remember what my life was like last time I wasn't stressed. I don't even know what that feeling is.
Worst part is I gamble when I'm stressed so that's fucking great.
Anyway, I'm just rambling on right now. Feels kidna nice to just get it out even if there's no one in particular I'm talking to.
Not sure how to end this.
Let me say this. To anyone who has it worse than me and to anyone that has it better. Don't give up hope.
I think these pits will make the highs in life that much brighter and I'll be able to appreciate them more.
Sounds cliche as fuck. Lol
I'll end off here.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading my story. Would love to read yours.

It is not the gambling industry's responsibility to manage and prevent individual's addictions

The gambling industry (especially in the UK) is coming under fire recently due to their heavy presence in advertising. People are calling for them to stop sponsoring sports teams and sports broadcasters in an attempt to prevent people becoming addicted to gambling.
Well, I disagree.
The gambling industry does a lot to raise awareness about the problems gambling can cause, should you be irresponsible. They do several things such as offering you the chance to set limits, take a time out, deactivate all together etc etc.
They're a business at the end of the day and they offer a service.
A supermarket will unknowingly serve an alcoholic. McDonalds will unknowingly serve someone with an eating disorder. A local shop will unknowingly serve a lung-cancer patient cigarettes.
So why is the gambling industry painted in such a bad light for unknowingly taking addicts bets?
The sooner people start taking responsibility for their own actions, the better the world will be!

Gambling time- oh look, you cheated in front of the manager. Well then...

Completely random prompt that I came up with for no reason except that I was bored and just watched a gambling anime. Here we go.
Semi-official prerequisites before you read on:
-Because this particular one is somewhat specific, being it's at a casino, you'll need a character that likes gambling (or just does whatever at casinos).
-Said character should (meaning 'does not need to') have a habit of cheating in casino games. Whether they're good or bad at cheating does not matter.
Okay, that's done, here we go.
You have decided to go out for the night at the local Aurum Casino. This casino chain is the largest of its kind in the Imperial Federation, with hundreds of properties across the galaxy. You arrive at the biggest branch, the one in the capital city of Anthos, excited to try your luck at the thousands of slot machines, gambling games, pool tables, arcade games, and more of what you'd find in a casino. In the Federation, most wealthier individuals play against each other in the popular game of poker, often betting billions while doing so. Tonight, the casino floor is particularly crammed with (still armed) soldiers celebrating another victorious battle, plenty of notorious gangsters (probably invited by Gold), and a lot of other influential people. You sit down at a poker table, and look at your three opponents.
The one next to you is Gold, the owner of the Aurum Casino chain, and nicknamed 'Casino Master' for his uncanny ability to remain virtually undefeated in every casino game. You remember him, don't ya? Kingpin, right hand man of Death, etc. See previous posts for more info on him. He's a legend at all sorts of casino games, pool, poker, blackjack, he's mastered the whole thing, despite having only the fifth highest IQ in the Elite Guard (and the whole Imperial Federation), at 209.
The second is Blake, who, despite being the Military Police Director (and thus Gold's natural arch-nemesis), still spends quite a bit of time at casinos trying (and failing) to beat Gold. Frequently loses millions of credits to Gold. IQ: 223, third highest IQ in the Imperial Federation.
The last is Intelligence Director Ruby, who, with an IQ of 233 (highest in the whole Federation), would be the so-called 'Casino Master' (thus taking Gold's spot) if it weren't for the fact that he prefers spending hours in his workshop and only comes to the casino when Gold (literally) drags him over. Doesn't mean he's dumb at card games, though.
You begin to reconsider playing against three of the smartest people in this country, but, thanks to your expertise, it's not much of an issue. You all throw in your bets, you betting a few million. You watch in astounded confusion as the others casually bet a few billion dollars, with Gold literally taking off one of his (various) exquisite rings and betting it. Here and there you pull a little trick, occasionally getting a glare from one of the other three. After Gold wins in a smashing victory (and Blake groans as he loses yet another few million), Ruby stands up, whispers a few things to Gold, and leaves without another word. After Blake follows Ruby out the door, Gold turns to you, with a smug look on his face.
And loudly proclaims, "Man, you must cheat a lot. And in front of me, no less!"
At which the crowd of people mingling on the casino floor falls silent and turns to stare at you.
Within this crowd are several of Gold's top henchmen, at least thirty Specialist Corps troopers (just think berserkers), a few mercenaries, and plenty of other people who aren't pleased to find you cheated in a game against Gold. You suddenly remember what happens to cheaters in the Aurum Casino.
What is your next move?

How do you manage the !gamble command?

Hello, I recently added the !gamble command this year and have had a bit of trouble with making it balanced out, and not allowing someone to ends up with millions of points. Would you guys be willing to share your settings if you have the !gamble/loyalty points enabled?
How big is your cool down before user can use the command again? What is the !gamble all capped at? Did you make any changes to how big the multiplier is? How many points does user get for watching, following, etc?
Any help could be appreciated! Thank you!
